Nugget is a happy-go-lucky little guy despite ending up in a Kill Shelter.  And recently he had another sad event when his owner passed away.  But he always seems to be smiling, loves cuddles, and soaks up attention.  He is praised highly by his foster mom on how affectionate he is and for such having such a sweet personality.  This tiny fella with long legs is about 10 years young and still has a zest for life.  He walks well on leash, seems to be housetrained, gets along well with cats, other small dogs (who don't try to boss him around), and kids who are respectful.  Nugget hasn't spent much time around large dogs, so if your family would like to meet him and large dogs are a part of your family, a meet and greet between the pups would be necessary.  Leisure time outside taking in all the sights and smells is one of Nugget's favorite activities.  A fenced yard is required.

All of our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention.  If the animal is too young to be altered (6 months or under), a certificate for their spay/neuter surgery is included in their adoption fee.  In accordance with Texas Health & Safety Code §828.002, sterilization is a mandatory requirement of adoptions through humane organizations and is included in our adoption contract

Many of our animals can be seen at our Adoption Center located at 5820 Richmond Rd, Texarkana, TX on Saturdays between 10 am - 3 pm.  We also have cats available in the Cat Adoption Center inside PetSmart - Texarkana.  To make arrangements to meet any of our animals, please call us at 1-877-525-4825, option 2.
