TAL Volunteer OpportunitiesTexarkana Animal League, Inc. always has openings for more volunteers. Here are a few of the ways you can help:Adoption Center Volunteer (Cat): Feed, water, clean enclosures & litter boxes, play with cats to socialize them, & introduce them to potential adopters. Adoption Center Volunteer (Dog): Feed, water, clean enclosures, play with dogs to socialize them, & introduce them to potential adopters. Adoption Event Volunteer: Help at adoption events by transporting animals to & from foster homes to event (if needed), be responsible for the care of the animals during the event, and interact with potential adopters. Foster Home (Cat): Foster a cat in your home while it is waiting for a "furever" home or recovering from medical procedures. Foster Home (Dog): Foster a dog in your home while it is waiting for a "furever" home or recovering from medical procedures. Fundraising & Event Volunteer: Help with events (set-up/tear-down/everything in between) such as fundraisers and community education events. Grant Writer: Research, develop, and write grant proposals & applications to foundations and other grant-making organizations to persuasively communicate TAL's mission & programs to potential funders (will have assistance from board members to obtain necessary organizational info for grant apps) Pet Education Project (PEP!) Volunteer: Education and outreach program that teaches the core responsibilities of pet ownership to children and the community. Photographer: Photograph TAL animals as well as events & activities. Transport "Pit Stop" Helper: Dog transports often transport dogs from the south to other rescue groups or fosters/adopters in the north. Those trips are very long, so they use our Adoption Center as a quick "rest stop" to feed & exercise the dogs being transported to their new homes. The transport generally stops at our Adoption Center for about 3 hours. This is a perfect way to get your "dog fix" in a very enjoyable way. Hold your own fundraiser: Let us know what your ideas are and we can partner with you for a fundraiser for TAL. Other: Brainstorm on this. Is there anything you are good at that you think could help our programs or our animals? Reach out to us to share your ideas!
